Our safety standards are second to none

Safety

At Walsh & Albert, the highest standards of safety awareness and practice are part of our company DNA.  We understand that as contractors, our company standards effectively become part of the workplace culture for our customers as well.  The goal of our Safety program is to protect both our workforce and our clients utilizing the very best standards, practices and procedures available today.

Nothing less is acceptable.

Walsh & Albert's excellent EMR and TRIIR ratings are a valid indicator that our comprehensive approach to health and safety policy is working.  A table of the last three years of Walsh & Albert's EMR and TRIIR ratings follows.

Workers Compensation Experience Modification Rate (EMR)
2013/.76 2012/.72 2011/.72 2010/.89 2009/.97
Total OSHA Recordable Injury & Illnesses Rate (TRIIR)
2013/1.35 2012/1.19 2011/2.20 2010/2.61 2009/2.70

Each of our new employees establishes a baseline with a pre-employment physical and 10-level drug screening.  After becoming part of our workforce, they experience intensive training in hazardous communication procedures and lockout/tagout protocols.  All of our foremen and lead people have completed a 10-hour OSHA course in safety matters.  Senior supervisors have completed a 30-hour course.  At least one worker in eight is certified by the American Heart Association in CPR and First Aid.

In addition, every employee hired by Walsh & Albert for the last seven years has gone through the E-Verify process with the Department of Homeland Security, establishing their right to work in the United States.

As a supplier to many oilfield-related companies whose safety standards are second to none, Walsh & Albert routinely complies with the most rigorous requirements, and indeed, supports them with weekly on-site safety meetings.  We are proud to be part of the team authorized to work on the new ExxonMobil Headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas.
