Walsh & Albert Increasing Staff as Area Economy Improves

Walsh & Albert, one of the largest high-volume HVAC ductwork suppliers in Texas, is actively staffing up, recruiting estimators, detailers and field personnel in response to the growing south Texas economy, corporate relocation and other changes in the market that favor new construction.
“Walsh & Albert is looking at a very promising next few years,” says Andrew Yost, fabrication sales. “One of our key areas of expertise is remodeling HVAC systems in older schools, and HISD recently passed a billion-dollar bond issue for school remodeling. There is also a large amount of new of Class-A office space being built in The Woodlands in response to Exxon Mobil’s expansion of their corporate campus there.”
Walsh & Albert is involved in the supply to this project, which will house 10,000 people in multiple low-rise buildings on its 385-acre campus when it opens in 2015.
According to Yost, Walsh & Albert is recruiting for four types of positions.
The company is looking for detailers with sheet metal experience who have a background in Autocad MEP 2012 and drafting. There is also an opportunity for estimators who can perform cost projections, material takeoffs and labor calculations to budget and bid new projects.
Walsh & Albert also needs project foremen with certified mechanical capability in sheet metal work with five to eight years’ experience, and field workers with sheet metal experience.
“We want to find the right people, develop them and keep them on our team for the long haul,” says Yost. “The average length of employment for Walsh & Albert employees is 10 to 15 years. Our safety training record is second to none, and all of our new employees go through the e-verify process with Homeland Security to establish their right to work in the United States.”
